AND ATIKU WEPT, HAD HE WON THERE’LL BE NO PROTEST IN NIGERIA!

by frank ebikefe

The rulling APC at it again, throwing tantrums at Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in a desperate search for a scape goat to cover for their Bad Governance and Hunger that has led to a nationwide protest which has spiralled into violence on the streets of Nigeria!

Any call for security agencies to take caution on fellow Nigerian protesters is a clarion call, knowing they didn’t just take to the streets but were forced out or they die of hunger. This reality and constitutional provisions on protest gives protesters the right to assemblage and to call Government to Account on bad Governance in Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC.

Nevertheless, we call for restraints on destruction of life and prosperity by hoodlums who will inevitably infiltrate the protest, sometimes sponsored by the usual suspects just to give the protest a bad name for the security agencies to have cause to shoot at will, killing innocent Nigerians.
We all recall the infamous Lagos Lekki Toll Gate massacre and the lies of the authorities that nobody was shot or killed, but thanks to Al Jazeera panel of inquiry which found the Nigerian military to be culpable! Never again!!

Nigerians from all walks of life see Atiku’s call for restraints on the part of security agencies against protesters as nothing but a caution to avoid the dastardly incidence of the Lekki Toll Gate killings of innocent Nigerians and nobody has yet been held accountable for their killing to date.

So when Government propaganda machines desperately try to paint Turaki black for calling out security agents to be guided professionally and by the Constitution, Nigerians are not distracted from the truth before us, that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu APC led Federal Government has not performed on many fronts warranting a Nationwide protest which in turn has forced the FG to roll out desperate measures to meet the legitimate needs of the protesters in a hurry, some of which they could have done earlier had they meant well for Nigeria and Nigerians!

Finally, opposition is a Democratic tool for good governance and it is undemocratic to unnecessarily castigate and vilify opposition figures even when they are right as is the case in question.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
