GOVT. SENATORIAL FARMS A MUST AND A NECESSITY FOR FOOD SECURITY!

FUNCTIONAL SENATORIAL FARMS!

Any state Government in Nigeria that doesn’t have functional state Agricultural farms in its Senatorial District based on comparative advantage for rapid agricultural production of food to complement availability of agro-products has failed in food security in it’s state and that’s unacceptable Mr. Governor!

Billions allocated to the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources annually with nothing to show for in food production is tantamount to failure and worse when you play politics with the office of the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, not making sure a seasoned well grounded professional is in charge of the sensitive sector, what do you expect other than underperformance and underproductivity of a vital sector!?

Food security isn’t the exclusivity of the Federal Government, state Government must go into rapid agricultural development and investment to compete with existing private agricultural enterprises in production to ensure food availability and price stabilisation.

Mr. Governor, you have absolutely no excuse not to have functional Senatorial Agricultural farms in your state and if you ask your citizens, food is far more important that infrastructure you invest so much of their commonwealth on.
